Mark has begun filming his next BBC2 series - Museum of Life - as one of a team of presenters. Due to be broadcast in spring 2010, it reveals life behind the scenes at the Natural History Museum and various research expeditions. Mark's first shoot involved going in a submersible to film bone-eating snot-flower worms at the bottom of a fjord in Sweden.

Atlantic Whale Foundation (AWF) volunteers have forwarded him as someone who has inspired them 'to take action and make a difference to our world, and is willing to stand up for what he believes, encouraging others to do the same'.
