The Great Bear Rainforest, western Canada

Later in the month, Mark visited one of his favourite corners of the world: the Great Bear Rainforest. He was lecturing at Wildlife Worldwide's annual Festival of Wildlife (held in a different wildlife hotspot each year - for more information see www.wildlifeworldwide. com). The main aim was to see an extremely rare and elusive colour phase of the American black bear, called the spirit bear.
