Mark has written more than 50 books on a variety of wildlife, travel and conservation subjects – including the best-selling Last Chance to See with Douglas Adams, which is the inspiration of a new BBC-tv series (see above link).

He also wrote the most popular field guide to whales, dolphins and porpoises ever published (Whales, Dolphins and Porpoises, illustrated by Martin Camm, published by Dorling Kindersley). A selection of his books can be seen here, which have been published in more than 20 languages and sold millions of copies worldwide.

He also writes monthly columns in Wanderlust magazine for which he is Contributing Editor, and BBC Wildlife. He writes travel features for national newspapers and for 20 years was Advisory Editor of The Good Book Guide.
